I’m Samira

An entrepreneur in place development, strategy, marketing, and lifestyle design.

I help purpose-driven brands and places that prioritize community, culture, and meaningful experiences improve and grow their impact.

I’m also passionate about lifestyle design and helping ambitious people build  intentional lifestyles and businesses aligned with who they are, with time for what matters most.

In 2016, I left a traditional career to build a lifestyle more aligned with my values and ambitions. I had a good job, a nice apartment, great friends, hobbies, and so on, but still felt as if something was missing…

I created a strategy for myself, similar to a business plan. 🤓 I thought about what’s most important, how I want my life to look, and what kind of impact I wanted to have. I identified values and goals, like continuous learning, areas I wanted to contribute to, a certain level of flexibility, building around what matters most, and more. It made me realize I should start my own business.

With savings and a plan, I took a break from the company I was working for, and bought a one-way ticket to Cuba.

I’ve been location independent, living and working across cultures while building a business, ever since, with many learnings, ups, and downs along the way. It’s been quite an adventure, which still feels surreal sometimes!

My lifestyle has evolved a lot over the years and given me unique insights into place development, community engagement, cultures,  business, intentional living, and the many ways one can choose to live and work.

The most important lesson – life becomes much more exciting when you challenge the stereotypes of how you “should” live. 😉

So far, I’ve visited 50+ countries, while helping some of the biggest brands in the world, local entrepreneurs, and places from Europe and Africa to Latin America. I’ve inspired thousands of people to have more meaningful experiences and live in alignment with who they are – and this is only the beginning.

What I’m good at

Over the last decade, I’ve helped places and brands across cultures develop effective strategies that drive meaningful growth, engagement, and long-term impact.

From place development and community engagement to partnerships and marketing, always with a focus on authenticity, genuine connections, and collaboration to improve places and life quality.

I’m especially good at bridging place development, intentional living and business, balancing profit with impact, storytelling, uniting diverse stakeholders, challenging and upgrading mindsets/traditional ways, and helping businesses and people align with their core values.

What has shaped my perspective and approach

More than once I’ve asked myself why I do what I do. As I’ve gone deeper into impact work, it has never felt more right, but it’s also worth reflecting on why we choose this way when there are easier ones.

For me, it started with a drive to understand.

I’ve always been very curious. About places, people, stories, values, and drives. I left my hometown early and have lived in many different places, from Scandinavia and Asia to Latin America. Living across cultures made me clearer on what I value, and also showed how many ways there are to live, run a business, define meaning, and what often gets in the way.

Over time, it became an ability to see patterns quickly and address misalignments. I kept noticing the same gaps – in business, communities, and personal choices, and how they created frustration or wasted energy.

In some places, people value freedom and openness on the surface but avoid depth and connection in practice. In others, everything looks organized, but underneath people are burned out or disengaged. It forced me to pay attention to deeper patterns instead of appearances.

In development and business, I’ve seen organizations say they value impact, but act in ways that prioritize volume or quick returns. Addressing that gap became part of my approach. One of the most powerful ways to build trust, engagement, and loyalty, though not the fastest. 😉

Systems like short funding cycles or metrics built around numbers reward speed, visibility, and scale, which often means alignment gets pushed aside. Add in culture, biases, self-awareness, and emotional maturity, and you see how much shapes what feels acceptable or uncomfortable.

I’ve learned to see the difference between someone not trying (low effort) and someone who simply lacks capacity. On the surface, the result looks the same, but the cause — and what you do with it — is very different.

Getting up to speed in different places, picking up new languages, interacting with people who see the world differently, from indigenous communities to passionate local entrepreneurs and creatives, taught me to be careful with assumptions and you can never communicate too clearly. Sometimes that still doesn’t help. 😅

Living this way, dividing my time between places, and constantly choosing what to prioritize shaped more than my observations. It trained me not to separate work from life, or personal values from professional ones.

Complexity as clarity

Years of navigating uncertainty, the unconventional, starting from scratch, and working across cultures, taught me to be grounded no matter the surroundings.

Making decisions in new contexts, understanding how everything connects, letting go of the need to control, filtering what matters – in strategy, relationships, how I think about places and belonging.

Complexity doesn’t drain, but it orients and fascinates me.

I’ve learned how you can hold supposed opposites without treating them as conflicts – connection and independence, belonging and freedom, structure and flexibility, stability and possibility…

Integrating different parts of yourself, from values and business to desires, makes life more authentic. It introduces other options, and you can choose what feels most aligned.

When you’re more connected to yourself, you also see others better. The subtle beyond the surface, behaviors, patterns, whether someone is grounded.

The same perspective I use in choosing where to live or who to work with is the one I bring into strategy and partnerships. That integration, tested across contexts, makes me quick at noticing when things don’t add up and clear on how to move forward.

Connections beyond the obvious

The way here has been unreal, insightful, and given me a clarity I felt I had to share.

People often ask for growth, change, or fixing challenges. But often it’s about noticing contradictions and connections that aren’t obvious at first — that’s what makes it possible to break patterns and build what you want.

Complexity isn’t something to escape, but a space to experience, integrate, and move through with curiosity. With all the ups and downs, it’s what lets you build with intention.

These days, I usually divide my year between Latin America and Europe. I often spend months in each country and have created a set-up that feels meaningful, combining depth and variation, that evolves as I and the surroundings do.

A flexible life isn’t about being everywhere, even if you could. It’s about being intentional enough for something special to stay alive, no matter the location. In the future, I’ll have my charming part- time bases in my favorite places, but more about that another time.

I’m also open to being based in locations where long-term collaborations, programs, or ecosystems could benefit from continuity and presence on-site.
